   “地球一小时”象征着希望，也代表着行动。每个人都能让一切从此改变。
    你知道吗？
    “地球一小时”始于2007年3月31日，澳大利亚悉尼熄灯一小时。当晚，大约有220万悉尼家庭和企业熄灯一小时悉尼成功减少了10.2％的用电量。悉尼政府和居民用行动向全世界发出强烈声明：我们可以减少使用可造成地球暖化的煤燃电力！然而仅仅一年以后，2008年3月29 日，“地球一小时”已成为一项全球性并持续发展的活动，超过35个国家多达5000万人参与其中。2009年，“地球一小时”来到中。。国，让拥有13亿人口的发展中大国加入到这一小时中，进一步在缓和气候变化问题中扮演重要角色。目前，已经有来自62个国家和地区的74座城市承诺参与“地球一小时”活动，共同为地球的作出贡献。
    在这短短的一个小时里，全球各大城市的地标性建筑，如旧金山的金门大桥，罗马斗兽场及时代广场上的可口可乐广告牌等都为此而伫立于黑暗之中，各城市居民也表达了对刻不容缓的环保事业的热忱希望。
    现在，“地球一小时”活动正进入冲刺阶段加入我们！让更多的人、城市加入到活动中，共同显示大家应对气候变化的努力和决心！
    2009年的“地球一小时”是一项全球性的行动，它呼吁每个人，每个企业和社区都积极采取措施，投身其中，承担应尽职责，为创建一个可持续发展的明天而行动起来。届时，全球各地从欧洲到美洲的地标性建筑都将伫立于黑暗之中。而世界各国人民将通过关灯这一方式，携手为创造地球更美好的明天而努力。
    由地球一小时中。。国区活动推广大使李冰冰参与的系列活动公益广告将亮相。3月28日晚，李冰冰将与大家一起加入到“熄灯一小时”的活动中来。李冰冰表示：“ 地球是我们共同的家园，每一个人都有责任节约能源。我希望能用我的力量，号召更多的人参加这个有意义的活动，一起表达我们应对气候变化的决心。”
    针对如何有意义地度过3月28日晚上的一小时，著名的钢琴家郎朗则给大家提出了自己的建议：“黑暗环境中欣赏音乐更能高度集中，完全投入旋律之中。那一刻，你会深受感动，并会引发想象力。”
    “地球一小时”活动其实就像开灯关灯一样容易。 2009年3月28日晚上8：30，全球各地的人们将为“地球一小时”而熄灯。我们希望能有超过1000个城市10亿人参加这一活动中来，用全球性的努力一起来应对气候变暖。

YOUR LIGHT SWITCH IS YOUR VOTE
This year, Earth Hour has been transformed into the world’s first global election, between Earth and global warming.
For the first time in history, people of all ages, nationalities, race and background have the opportunity to use their light switch as their vote – Switching off your lights is a vote for Earth, or leaving them on is a vote for global warming. WWF are urging the world to VOTE EARTH and reach the target of 1 billion votes, which will be presented to world leaders at the Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen 2009.
This meeting will determine official government policies to take action against global warming, which will replace the Kyoto Protocol. It is the chance for the people of the world to make their voice heard.
Earth Hour began in Sydney in 2007, when 2.2 million homes and businesses switched off their lights for one hour. In 2008 the message had grown into a global sustainability movement, with 50 million people switching off their lights. Global landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Rome’s Colosseum, the Sydney Opera House and the Coca Cola billboard in Times Square all stood in darkness.
In 2009, Earth Hour is being taken to the next level, with the goal of 1 billion people switching off their lights as part of a global vote. Unlike any election in history, it is not about what country you’re from, but instead, what planet you’re from. VOTE EARTH is a global call to action for every individual, every business, and every community. A call to stand up and take control over the future of our planet. Over 74 countries and territories have pledged their support to VOTE EARTH during Earth Hour 2009, and this number is growing everyday.
We all have a vote, and every single vote counts. Together we can take control of the future of our planet, for future generations.
VOTE EARTH by simply switching off your lights for one hour, and join the world for Earth Hour.
